Important Dates

All documentation must be submitted prior to June 1 to ensure evaluation before the beginning of the fall semester. If your documentation is received after June 1, please be aware that the course add/drop deadline and refund dates will be in effect. If you receive transfer credit for any course(s) in which you are currently registered, it is your responsibility to make the necessary registration amendments through MyOntarioTech. Refer to the Academic Calendar for the tuition refund deadlines.

Next Steps

1. Accept your offer of admission.
2. Ensure you have submitted a final official transcript showing your grades to the Admissions department.
3. If we require a syllabus to complete your assessment, we will request it through your Applicant Portal. Please read our syllabus submission guidelines before submitting any syllabi.
4. Check your Applicant Portal regularly for the results of your assessment.

Notes

Students who have completed Advanced Placement (AP), Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE), International Baccalaureate (IB) or General Certificate of Education (A-Levels) courses may be eligible for up to 18 credit hours toward their Ontario Tech University degree. The following minimum scores are required for transfer credit consideration:

• Advanced Placement: 4
• CAPE (unit 2 only): 3 
• International Baccalaureate (HL only): 5
• General Certificate of Education (A-levels): C

Note: Engineering students are not eligible to receive transfer credit for the above mentioned courses. 

In order for transfer credit to be awarded, the university must receive official examination results from the appropriate examining board.
