Admission requirements
This information is for international students applying to an undergraduate program. If you are interested in pursuing a master's or PhD, please visit our School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies website.
Please note: All of our bachelor degree programs are post-graduation work permit (PGWP) eligible. No Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) code required.
General admission requirements by country and curriculum can be found on our international admissions requirements page.
Applicants must complete the appropriate number of courses and the program-specific subject prerequisites in their secondary school or post-secondary studies prior to pursuing university-level studies.
Note: Admission is competitive. The specific average or standing required for admission varies from year to year. Students are selected by taking into consideration a wide range of criteria including school marks, distribution of subjects taken and performance in subjects relevant to the academic program. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.
Please note: All of our bachelor degree programs are post-graduation work permit (PGWP) eligible. No Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) code required.
All applicants to full-time undergraduate programs should apply in one of two ways; choose only one.
Option one:
The OUAC online application system allows you to apply to multiple Ontario universities or programs with one application. Here are the steps to follow:
- Apply online using the OUAC website using the Undergraduate Application.
- Be sure to apply by the application deadline for the program to which you want to be admitted—you can choose up to three programs.
- Once the university receives your application from the OUAC, we will send you information regarding the next steps in the admissions process.
Option two:
If you are only applying to Ontario Tech, apply internally at ontariotechu.ca/internationalapplication. You can apply to three programs for a $100 application fee.
Students interested in starting in January should visit the winter applicants page for more information.
Note: If you're a student with a disability and want to be considered for admission on the basis of disability, please visit our special considerations page.
