Curriculum

British-Patterned Education
Successful completion of the General Certificate of Education (GCE) including at least five different IGCSE/GCSE/Ordinary Level academic subjects and a minimum of two Advanced Level (A/A2 Level) academic subjects; minimum grades of C.
All programs have English as an academic subject pre-requisite, which can be presented at the ordinary level. This requirement is distinct and separate from the English proficiency requirement. Math and Science program prerequisites should be completed at the Advanced/A2 Level; however, some programs may consider subjects presented at the Ordinary and/or Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level provided the applicant has excellent grades all-round.
Accordingly, applicants interested in our Bachelor of Engineering degrees must present Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry at the Advanced Level. Both Physics and Chemistry are recommended; however, if only one is presented at the Advanced Level, the other must be presented at the IGCSE/GCSE/Ordinary or AS Level for admission consideration.
Official final results should be sent directly to the university by the external examination body (AQA, Cambridge International Examinations, Pearson EdExcel, etc.).
Applicants may be considered for conditional admission on the basis of predicted results while in progress in the GCE A/A2 Level courses. Ideally, midterm or in-progress A/A2 Level marks should accompany predicted results. These midterm, predicted and final IGCSE/GCSE/Ordinary Level results must be submitted to the university directly from the institutions attended.
Applicants presenting BTEC credentials (Level 3 and above) will be considered on a case-by-case basis; all academic subject pre-requisites/admission requirements of the program of interest must be met, and a WES course-by-course assessment is required upon application. BTEC credentials will not be considered for admission consideration to early deadline programs, e.g., Nursing, Computer Science, and Medical Laboratory Science. Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE)
Completion of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) or General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) diploma including one of the following three:
- Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) results (minimum six units completed);
- Minimum one year completed at a recognized post-secondary institution; or
- Minimum two Advanced (A) Level courses.
Program prerequisites should be completed at the A Level, CAPE Level or at a recognized post-secondary institution; some programs may consider excellent grades presented at the CSEC or Ordinary Level.
CSEC and CAPE results should be sent directly to the university by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

French-Patterned Education
Applicants must present their Baccalauréat with the prerequisite subjects completed in the terminale or senior year.
We will also accept Baccalauréat Général, Diplôme de Bachelier de l’Enseignement du Second Degré, or Option Internationale du Baccalauréat.
Baccalauréat Technologique from France will also be considered if required subjects are included.
Official final transcripts and copy of diploma must be sent directly to the university by the issuing institution in a duly-sealed envelope certified by an administrator of the institution.

International Baccalaureate (IB)
Full diploma candidates who achieve passes in six subjects with at least three at the Higher Level, and who accumulate a grade total of 24 with no score lower than 4 are eligible for admission to first year. Admitting scores vary from program to program.
For Engineering and Science degrees, the mathematics courses accepted are Analysis and Approaches HL or SL, or Applications and Interpretation HL.
Final IB results must be made available to the university online by the International Baccalaureate office.
If you are not completing the full IB Diploma, individual IB courses may be considered for admission. Official transcripts and proof of high school graduation must be submitted directly from your institution.
Applicants who are following the IB curriculum can satisfy their English language proficiency (ELP) requirements by presenting an IB certificate or diploma with a minimum grade of 4 in IB English A.

U.S. Patterned Education
Applicants must achieve high school graduation from one of the regional accreditation associations, and present a competitive average for the program prerequisites in their Grade 12/Senior Year courses.
Prerequisite courses, including English, should be presented at the Grade 12/Senior Year/College Prep/Honors level. SAT Subject Tests or Advanced Placement (AP) exam results are also accepted.
SAT or ACT scores should also be submitted if written. The university's SAT code is 4192 and the ACT code is 5265.
Applicants are also encouraged to upload a school profile with their application.
The final official transcript must be sent directly to the university by the issuing institution in a duly-sealed, institutionally labelled envelope or other acceptable electronic submission method (example: Parchment).

West African Examinations Council (WAEC)
Submission of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Senior School Certificate results statement and complete scratch card details in order to verify the results online. NECO results may also be submitted.
