Description

You have completed the Ontario secondary school curriculum (or equivalent) through a recognized home-schooling program.

Admission requirements

You are required to complete or show knowledge in the prerequisite courses for the program you want to gain admission to.
You are evaluated using standardized tests (through distance learning or alternative education centres) or on a combination of SAT subject tests and a portfolio.
Parent-generated transcripts are accepted as a reflection of courses completed and marks attained, but these transcripts must be submitted in conjunction with standardized test scores.
If you have completed courses through distance learning or alternative education centres, include marks from these courses when you apply. If official transcripts show completion of specific prerequisite subjects, you don't need to submit SAT subject test scores or a portfolio.

Note: Applications from individuals who do not possess a Canadian secondary school diploma will be considered.

Admission is competitive. The specific average or standing required for admission varies from year to year. Students are selected by taking into consideration a wide range of criteria including school marks, distribution of subjects taken and performance in subjects relevant to the academic program. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.

All applications to full-time undergraduate programs are processed by the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC).

The OUAC online application system allows you to apply to multiple Ontario universities or programs with one application. Here are the steps to follow:

Apply online through the OUAC website using the Undergraduate Application.
Be sure to apply by the application deadline for the program to which you want to be admitted.
Once the university receives your application from the OUAC, we’ll send you information about the next steps in the admissions process.

Admissions decisions for Fall 2025 will be released on a regular basis beginning in January 2025. The deadline to accept an offer of admission will be listed in your offer letter.

Document submission deadline for Early Application Programs. A midterm or final mark must be submitted for each prerequisite course in order to be considered for admission

Friday, February 21

Deadline for applicants to apply for the Chancellor's, President's and Founder's scholarships. Superior academic achievement, demonstrated leadership qualities, an essay and letters of support are required from all applicants. Interested applicants are required to complete and submit a scholarship application.
Deadline for applicants to apply for the FIRST Robotics Canada Scholarship. Interested applicants must complete and submit a scholarship application.

Friday, March 28

Deadline to submit completed applications to the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) for equal consideration for all programs other than Early Application Programs.
Please note: Applications received after this date will still be processed by the OUAC and distributed to the universities. However, specific institutional deadlines will apply.
Document submission deadline for admissions consideration for all programs other than Early Application Programs. A midterm or final mark must be submitted for each prerequisite course in order to be considered for admission.
Documents received after this date will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as space permits.

Monday, June 2

Advanced standing/transfer credit requests and supporting documentation received by Saturday, May 31 will be processed and evaluated before the beginning of the fall semester. The Office of the Registrar gives no assurance that transfer credit requests submitted after this date will be processed before the final registration day for the fall semester. Transfer assessments will only be processed after you accept your offer of admission to the university.
Residence applications must be received by this date in order to guarantee a spot in residence.

Friday, June 6

Deadline to submit non-refundable tuition deposit. Applicants must first accept their offer in order to pay their deposit.

Friday, July 11

Document deadline for applicants with conditional offers of admission to Early Application Programs. Applicants are unable to upgrade during the summer for consideration of admission to Fall 2025 Early Application Programs. Courses must be completed by Friday, June 27.

Friday, August 8

Deadline for the submission of any upgrading marks and outstanding documentation for students who have received and accepted a conditional offer of admission. Applicants are unable to upgrade during the summer for consideration to Early Application Programs.

Note: The university reserves the right to amend application deadline and decision release dates without prior notice.

All applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency. This requirement can be satisfied with one of the following criteria:

Your first language is English.
You have completed at least three years of formal, full-time study (no less than three courses per semester) at a secondary or post-secondary institution where the language of instruction and examination is English.
Note: The minimum three-year requirement does not include time enrolled in an English as a Second Language program.
You have achieved the required proficiency on one of the English language tests acceptable to the university.

Advanced Placement

Minimum score of 4 on Advanced Placement exams.
Maximum of 18 credit hours can be granted.

International Baccalaureate

Minimum score of 5 on higher level International Baccalaureate examination.
Maximum of 18 credit hours can be granted.

General Certificate of Education

A grade of C or better in Advanced Level (A level) courses.
Maximum of 18 credit hours can be granted.

University and College Transfer Credit

Other university-level courses taken while in a secondary school will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Official documents must be supplied directly from the issuing institution/governing body to the Office of the Registrar to ensure granting of credit.
