Canadian out-of-province high school applicants

Description

You meet one of the following criteria:

You are currently completing your senior year in a Canadian secondary school outside of Ontario.
You have completed your secondary school diploma in a Canadian province or territory outside of Ontario, are under the age of 21, and have not attended any post-secondary institutions.

Admission requirements

You must complete an appropriate number of grade 12-level courses for admission consideration, including prerequisites , as required by your province to graduate. Please visit our out-of-province course comparison chart page for more details.

Note: Admission is competitive. The specific average or standing required for admission varies from year to year. Students are selected by taking into consideration a wide range of criteria including school marks, distribution of subjects taken and performance in subjects relevant to the academic program. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.

All applications to full-time undergraduate programs are processed by the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC).

The OUAC online application system allows you to apply to multiple Ontario universities or programs with one application. Here are the steps to follow:

Apply online through the OUAC website using the Undergraduate Application.
Be sure to apply by the application deadline for the program to which you want to be admitted.
Once we receive your application from the OUAC, we’ll send you information about the next steps in the admissions process.

Admissions decisions for Fall 2025 will be released on a regular basis beginning in January 2025. The deadline to accept an offer of admission will be listed in your offer letter.

Friday, January 31

Application deadline for Early Application Programs. Early Application Programs include:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours)
- Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) - Medical Laboratory Science

Friday, February 7

Document submission deadline for Early Application Programs. A midterm or final mark must be submitted for each prerequisite course in order to be considered for admission. Early Application Programs include:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours)
- Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) - Medical Laboratory Science

Thursday, February 20

Deadline for applicants to apply for the Chancellor's, President's and Founder's scholarships. Superior academic achievement, demonstrated leadership qualities, an essay and letters of support are required from all applicants. Interested applicants are required to complete and submit a scholarship application.
Deadline for applicants to apply for the FIRST Robotics Canada Scholarship. Interested applicants must complete and submit a scholarship application.

Friday, March 28

Deadline to submit completed applications to the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) for equal consideration for all programs other than Early Application Programs.
Please note: Applications received after this date will still be processed by the OUAC and distributed to the universities. However, specific institutional deadlines will apply.
Document submission deadline for admissions consideration for all programs other than Early Application Programs. A midterm or final mark must be submitted for each prerequisite course in order to be considered for admission.
Please note: Documents received after this date will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as space permits.

Monday, June 2

Residence applications must be received by this date in order to guarantee a spot in residence.

Friday, June 6

Deadline to submit tuition deposit. Please note: Offers must be accepted through OUAC before the tuition deposit can be paid.

Friday, July 11

Document deadline for applicants with conditional offers of admission to Early Application Programs. Applicants are not able to upgrade during the summer for admission consideration to Fall 2025 Early Application Programs. Courses must be completed by Sunday, June 30.

Friday, August 8

Deadline for the submission of any upgrading marks* and outstanding documentation for students who have received and accepted a conditional offer of admission.
*Applicants are unable to upgrade during the summer for consideration to Early Application Programs.

Note: The university reserves the right to amend application deadline and decision release dates without prior notice.

All applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency. This requirement can be satisfied with one of the following criteria:

Your first language is English.
You have completed at least three years of formal, full-time study (no less than three courses per semester) at a secondary or post-secondary institution where the language of instruction and examination is English.
Note: The minimum three-year requirement does not include time enrolled in an English as a Second Language program.
You have achieved the required proficiency on one of the English language tests acceptable to the university.

Advanced Placement

Minimum score of 4 on Advanced Placement exams.
Maximum of 18 credit hours can be granted.

International Baccalaureate

Minimum score of 5 on higher-level International Baccalaureate examination.
Maximum of 18 credit hours can be granted.

General Certificate of Education

A grade of C or better in Advanced Level (A level) courses.
Maximum of 18 credit hours can be granted.

University and College Transfer Credit

Other university-level courses taken while in secondary school will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Official documents must be supplied directly from the issuing institution/governing body to the Office of the Registrar to ensure granting of credit.

Achieving these scores does not guarantee transfer credit. Granting of transfer credit is subject to faculty approval. For additional information, please visit our transfer credit page.
