Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

  • You are taking courses during the day at an Ontario secondary school (this includes students returning for second semester and graduated students returning to upgrade one or more courses).

  • You have completed your senior year at a Canadian secondary school within the last 18 months.
  • You have no post-secondary education.

You meet one of the following criteria:

  • You are currently completing your senior year in a Canadian secondary school outside of Ontario.
  • You have completed your secondary school diploma in a Canadian province or territory outside of Ontario, are under the age of 21, and have not attended any post-secondary institutions.

  • You are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • You are not currently attending a Canadian high school day program (in Canada or abroad).
  • You are currently studying or have studied outside of Canada.

  • You have been away from formal education for at least two years.
  • You will be age 21 or older in the calendar year you start your program.
  • You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

  • You are currently enrolled in a general arts and science (GAS) program at a recognized Ontario college.
  • You have graduated from a GAS program at a recognized Ontario college and have not pursued any other post-secondary education.

This application is for students who do not plan to pursue a degree at Ontario Tech. There are two types of applications available:

  • Non-degree: You plan to take up to two courses to explore a personal interest or you want to upgrade your university record to qualify for graduate or professional programs.
  • Visiting Student: You are currently attending another post-secondary institution and received permission from your home institution to take a course at the university.
