Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Upgrading

  • Ontario high school students

    If you have accepted a conditional offer of admission and need to upgrade your marks or are missing a prerequisite course, please refer to our list of suggested upgrading options. You must make sure the credit(s) you are taking are at the 4U or 4M level, and the institution offering the course is accredited.

    You are required to submit proof of enrolment in the course(s) to the Office of the Registrar by July 12, 2024, by completing the online upgrading form. Upon completion of the course(s), the final grade(s) must be received by the Office of the Registrar no later than August 9, 2024. Upgrading courses that cannot be sent through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) must be mailed directly from the high school, upgrading centre or school board to the university in a sealed envelope. Student-issued transcripts will not be accepted.

    Summer upgrading marks (completed after June 30) are not accepted for early deadline programs (Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science).

     
  • All other applicants

    If you need to upgrade your marks or are missing a required prerequisite, please refer to our list of suggested upgrading options. You must make sure the credit(s) you are taking are at the 4U or 4M level or equivalent, and the institution offering the course(s) is accredited.

    Regular deadline programs

    You should inform the admissions team that you are upgrading courses by submitting the online upgrading form. Midterm or final grades for upgrading courses should be submitted by the document submission deadline of March 29, 2024, for equal consideration. Midterm marks can be submitted through our document upload page. If you have accepted a conditional offer of admission and are upgrading, you must submit all final grades by August 9, 2024.

    Early deadline programs

    If you have applied to an early deadline program including Medical Laboratory Science or Nursing, you are required to submit midterm or final marks for upgrading courses by February 9, 2024. Midterm marks can be submitted through our document upload page. If you have accepted a conditional offer of admission and are upgrading, you must submit all final grades by July 12, 2024. Courses must be completed by June 30, 2024

    If you have applied to the Nursing - Post-RPN program, final marks for all upgrading courses are required by February 9, 2024. Further details regarding upgrading options for this particular program are available through our Nursing - Post RPN (Oshawa) page.
